OMG, Becky. She must be one of those rap guy’s girlfriends.

I’m alive! I know I’ve been gone for like 456,742 days, and each one of them have been agonizing.

I’d like to give a world of excuses, but one of my all-time favorite bloggers, Karyn from Pretty in the City, recently said it best:

“When you’ve been blogging for seven years sometimes you need a bit of a break…”

Just substitute a four in for that seven. But seriousry (in the words of Kim Jong-il), sometimes you do just need a break. I’ve been climbing the uphill first-three-month battle at my new job, juggled with volunteering for Girl Power Hour, friends, family, boyfriend and trying to keep my sanity. I’ve been oh so busy, but looking forward to getting back at it in 2010. I’ve recognized that I’m doing too many things at only about 75%, and not enough of a small list at 100%. Adjustments are on the horizon.

In the world of updates – I was gifted that fabulous laptop tray that’s been posted below for the last two months. Yippee! It should now be a lot easier for me to squeeze in some relaxation and blogging now since I can do both from bed or the couch. (!!!) The one downfall of having a social media job is that when you get home from a looong day of social media-ing (what I do best, if I do say so myself), you oftentimes want to unplug and not sit on your laptop all night.

But, I digress. I also have some other big life updates that perhaps I’ll share soon. (No, I’m not preggo or engaged). And I’m looking forward to doing my 2009 recap and plans for 2010.

In other words, I’ll be back. I’ve just taken a short commercial break.

Currently Feeling: Finally a bit better after a week of being bed-ridden. Of course after being healthy for two years, I get sick over Christmas.
Currently Anticipating: Hanging with the trivia team tomorrow – hope we’ll do better than second to last place this week!
Currently Reading: “The Girl Who Played With Fire” by Stieg Larsson. It’s the sequel to “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo,” which is a fab book.

    Ha, I *so* know the feeling behind the quote. Sometimes I cannot believe I've kept a blog (about relationships) longer than an ACTUAL relationship. Seven years for me too. Just. Wow.

    Welcome back, cutie! Happy New Year!

    She emerges!

    So off-topic, but I just checked "Firefly Lane" out from the library — I'll let you know how I like it! (I'm afraid it'll make me homesick…)

    I got a laptop tray, too! Love it.

    If you're not preggo or engaged then you only have medium news, not big news… Wait! Did you switch teams? You did? Awesome!

    @Whit
    Thanks lady! I hope to be back in full force soon.

    @Mel
    WOW. Seven years for you too? You ladies are veterans! Happy NYE to you!!

    Get back to the NW damnit. You could move in with me! I have a pretty little 2bed, 2bath apartment in Queen Anne for only $670 a month! Laundry and balcony included! I think my roommate and I have a lease through April… Not sure what her plans are though? But, it's a thought!

    @Paolo
    Yep! You guessed it. I'm a lesbo now. Hot chicks only though.

    Yay! Good to hear from you again! :) We need to figure out a time very soon that we can get together for a drink. I miss you and would love to catch up!

    I think it's normal to take a break sometimes, and blogging for 4 years! that's so long, I've only started last may, and sometimes I'm just tired of updating and uninspired, but ok so far, I've only taken little breakes, for a few days or 1 week or so…

    loves

  8. Maxie says:

    I've only been blogging 2.5 years and I need a break all the time. Glad you're back!

  9. Deutlich says:

    I'm a strong proponent for blog breaks. . . having just taken one myself.
